Over the course of four weeks, our team executed expert screeding, precision tiling, and durable grouting to create a flawless foundation for the dealership.

The project utilized large-format 600 x 600 mm tiles, chosen specifically for their durability and sleek appearance. Challenges

Uneven Subfloor Preparation

This commercial tiling project involved installing large-format tiles over a combination of existing and newly poured concrete. The old concrete presented significant challenges, including uneven levels, minor cracking, and numerous expansion joints positioned at inconsistent intervals. To accommodate movement and ensure a quality finish, we installed over 100 lengths of BAT expansion trims throughout the project.

Heavy-Duty Performance Requirements

As an automotive showroom, the floor needed to withstand the constant weight and movement of vehicles. Careful consideration was given to selecting the correct installation system, ensuring every tile achieved full adhesive coverage and maximum bond strength. This approach delivered a durable surface capable of performing under demanding conditions.

Complex Layout and Proven Results

The tiling extended throughout the main showroom, around the office areas, and seamlessly reconnected with the primary floor layout. This required precise planning and execution to ensure tile lines aligned perfectly across all transitions, without excessive gaps or misalignment. More than four years after completion, covering over 800m² including toilet facilities, the project remains defect-free, a result that reflects the quality of workmanship and the dedication of the entire team.

Precision Levelling and Screeding

To address the uneven subfloor, our team implemented a rigorous levelling strategy. We meticulously screeded the necessary sections to build up the floor, and utilized advanced self-levelling compounds in specific areas to achieve an absolutely perfectly flat substrate, essential for the 600 x 600 mm tiles.

Strategic Layout Planning

We meticulously mapped out the tile layout to ensure seamless transitions between the expansive main showroom and the smaller adjoining rooms and amenities. This careful planning ensured that the grout lines flowed naturally, despite the complex geometry of the space, resulting in a unified and professional appearance.

High-Performance Materials

Understanding the extreme demands of a car showroom, we prioritized durability. We selected premium, heavy-duty adhesives and high-strength grout specifically formulated to withstand the dynamic loads of vehicular traffic. This ensures the 600 x 600 mm tiles remain securely bonded and the grout lines intact for years to come.
