Featured Project: Herringbone Stone Bathroom in Toorak

This project was completed for a private interior designer in Toorak, who wanted a continuous herringbone pattern across both the floor and all bathroom walls. The design incorporated natural stone tiles, not standard tiles, making the installation far more complex due to the weight, thickness variation, and precision required.

The challenge was to continue the bathroom tiles from the floor to the walls so the stone appeared to flow seamlessly from one surface to another. When you look closely, the grout lines align exactly, creating the effect that the stone floor simply rises into the walls. This level of visual continuity requires precise layout planning, laser-cutting, and millimetre-accurate execution.

We carefully calculated the starting and finishing points before tiling. Two tilers worked in a coordinated system, with one installing inside the space, and the other cutting and preparing stone outside, keeping the bathroom clear and allowing the work to move efficiently.
