Craftsmanship & Execution

Every bathroom and individual space was curated with its own unique feature. Given the extensive use of natural stone throughout the residence, our team utilised wet saws for all tile cuts. It was a time-consuming process, but necessary to achieve the premium finish. White adhesive was used under floor tiles and grey adhesive under wall tiles, with lighter grout providing contrast.

Bathroom 1

Bathroom one had a geometric encaustic-look floor tiles paired with dark slate rectified porcelain walls, as well as a large custom niche. We were extra careful with the floor tiles, as even the tiniest mismatch would throw off the pattern.

For extra peace of mind, white adhesive was used under the floor tiles and grey adhesive under the wall tiles. A slightly lighter grout on the walls was utilised to provide a clean contrast against the dark porcelain.

Bathroom 2

The client requested that bathrooms 1 and 2 have matching floor tiles and different wall tiles. For this bathroom, its walls feature glossy ivory mini subway tiles installed vertically to accentuate the ceiling height.

Because of the bathroom's natural lighting, the tiles catch and reflect light, creating a dramatic contrast against the matte black freestanding bath. We also managed the slight size variation between tiles using a laser level and varied spacers.

Powder Room & Hallway

The powder room has a European heritage luxury theme. Nero Marquina and Calacatta Verde checkerboard floor was tiled to flow continuously through the powder room, hallway and laundry. The layout was technically planned from the powder room outward, with dry-laying through the hallway to achieve perfect alignment.

Additionally, the walls feature custom 100 × 100 mm Verde Apli marble mosaics. We sorted the mosaics so that the colours shifted evenly and avoided clustering of dark or light pieces. A custom grout colour was sourced from our supplier to create a unified surface.

Bathroom 3

Bathroom 3 is the main master bedroom. We installed a tumbled dark natural stone floor in a bricklay pattern, while the wall features large 1200mm x 600mm travertine-look porcelain tiles with a 20 mm width. The bathroom and ensuite flow as one open zone with no doors, featuring an overall theme of resort-style, monolithic-stone warmth.

Floor tiles were individually selected and placed to distribute the tones artistically to create a five-star resort feel (some tiles absorbing light, some reflecting it). Mitre joints where walls meet were finished with Tenax adhesive for a seamless appearance.
